Haha, mmmmm, sounds... delicious? If zombies attacked and I was holed up in my apartment and I ate all of my other food, I'd probably be really thankful I kept breeding roaches.

so the tank she has isn't big enough? because I have a spare one and got falsely excited when I saw the first set of pics...any suggestions on holding tanks?.. I want to start a feeder colony of some sort before I purchase a cham and I just found out mealworms ( which I ordered plus substrate ) aren't a good choice for chams . so i'm researching roaches and super/silkworms now.

Tank size depends on how big of a colony you want to establish.
Mine is a 65 quart plastic tub ($6-$9) and it has been fine so far.
**I would suggest getting one that does not have any grooves or indentations on the inside bottom of the tub. Much easier to clean!

what age should i think abut feeding my veiled. he is about 4 inches long so i am not sure of his or her age? My parents also have a thing with these pest and i still have to convince them that i can keep them contained. as it is there seems to always be chirping even though all the crickets seem to be devoured, i think i need to make sure that these little roaches would also not breed if the do not get out in south ca. i live in navy housing and my neibhors wouldnt be too happy with the little darlings running around their house since the houses are so close.

Thanks. and the heat pad doesn't bother the tub correct? or should I use a night lite?..

What about a long 20 gallon? I think its 30"x12"?
