Rh Spectrum Baby hatched

Hey All, just a quick note to share.
My clutch of Spectrum eggs started hatching today. One is out of the egg completely, no egg yolk etc... and is quite active, looks healthy.

Very cool thing is that this one is easily sexable from birth. This guys little tail obviously indicates him being a male.

The other is still not sweating so I'll have to wait on that one. Right now incubation took 5 months and 3 days, which is shorter that Necas & Schmidt indicated. Temps between 65-72. Some higher and lower days. The old magic closet is working.

Anyone have any raising tips specifically for this species?

Now...off to find some fruit flies.

Cheers,
T.

Here you go. Sexual dimorphism is rather apparent don't you think. :)

Indeed! :)
That's very cool. Congratulations. What's happening with the other egg?

I can't offer you any specific tips as I have not worked with the spectrum but I raised all my odd pygmy babies in small kritter keepers or small rubbermaids until they were big enough for the adult vivs. A piece of paper towel on the bottom, a few thin sticks, a plant cutting and lots of FF's was all I did.

Hey Tracey, thanks.
The other egg hasn't even started sweating yet, so going to have to sit on it for a while.

Thanks for the tips, I appreciate it!
Cheers,
T.
