I do want to thank Noelle for going the extra mile to find out what happened with little Nippy. Noelle and Chris genuinely care for all of their animals to the greatest extent, and I would never even think twice about leaving any of my animals in her or Chris's care. And a big thanks to Noelle's Vet for performing the Necropsy.
The Vet basically said that Nippy was "absolutely loaded with large mature, with very few regressing follicles, and she appeared to have an abnormally large heart. Looks like one of her atria was actually dialated, So I dont know if she had some type of underlying structural heart diease or just in follicular stasis and just tapped her out, and what the changes that we are seeing with the heart were secondary to that. This I would say the girl was stressed to the max with some other primary or secondary cardiac issues.
Going in with the male was just the straw that broke the camels back. So probably putting her in with the male pushed her over the edge and with her capacity to handle stress she just tapped out."
It looks like little Nippy had problems I just was not aware of. She was a big girl, always ate well, always had good color. This is just one of the things that can happen unfortunately. It is good news actually that there was not an accidental strangling and that the male had nothing to do with her death. They were a very sweet couple. (photo coutesy of Dank)
