Ok well today i went to buy a uvb bulb but they only had a 36 inch tube or the spiral bulb. I didnt want to get the tube because it was too big. So i went and bought the bulb.
So i was just wonder is this ok? Ive read that the spirals cause eye problems or something cant really remember. Or has this problem been fixed?

The compact spiral type 5% UV bulbs that I have tested with my UV meter do not have the output as advertised, maybe 2% if your lucky. They are also very low output.

I highly recommend NOT buying one and getting a tube bulb instead.
Everyone swears by the ReptiSun 5, but the Arcadia UVB's are better.
They are made in the UK and not widely available in the US.
This is why you dont here much about them.

They are much brighter then the equal size ReptiSun bulbs or any other popular brand bulbs for that matter.

You can order them from Light Your Reptiles. They require a special HO fixture as well and are way higher quality then ZooMed or ExoTerra.
