Reptile ID please

yep, looks like tegu for sure. The color in the photo is a bit dark but I'd lean towards black & white as well but it could be a gold
 
Appearantly this guy was wandering the streets of Salt Lake City. My girlfriends cousin found him or her, and I was asked to ID. I'm a chameleon guy, but type-casted as a lizard dude.
I have to smile :) and laugh a little, everytime someone comes up to me, and says "How's the gecko's" :rolleyes:

It probably was let go by some moron "not realizing how big it got". :mad:

You're not alone, Steve. I can't tell you the number of people who come up to my booth and are like "look at the geckos!" and everyone assumes that I know stuff about snakes and all kinds of other stuff. Oh well, goes with the territory I guess. :rolleyes:
 
Salt Lake City. Interesting place to find such a large lizard crawling around. I wonder how long it could have survived if nobody found it. Looks healthly. Goodluck!
