I think that small numbers of people can be allergic to anything. I believe there are cases of people who are allergic to other people. However, I would bet a dozen doughnuts that anyone who thinks they are allergic to their reptile is, in fact, allergic to the feeder poop. Insect poop is one of the most common allergens there is.
