I came here a few weeks ago with a question about my algae problem.

I went to petco 2 weeks ago and purchased some turbos, nassarius, and margaritas. ( about 15 total) They are able to keep the algae from spreading.

The main problem I discovered was that my mother would feed my tank with out me realizing so instead of being fed every other day or every day( which was already to much), its more like every day to twice a day. She enjoys watching them all come out and eat, so I can't really blame her

I've cut down on feeding 3-4 times per week. I would like to thank everyone who replied as you all gave excellent suggestions!!! I also added a power head to the oposite end of the tank as the flow was terrible. It is hard to properly diagnose my acctual problem with limited info. that i gave in the last thread. I have not done a water change in 2 weeks, and since then my nitrates went from 20+ to less than 10. My filter pulls a lot more than I assumed out and I think the power head will help in that aspect as well.

Id be weary of buying anything from petco tanks if you have fish. Id at least quarantine anything for a week or so just incase any diseases like ick will die off since there is no host. All the fish in Avon Ohio petco have ick and they will tell you but its obvious.

Glad they helped out though.

Yes, Now that you mention that I probably should have, but the guy there I trust since he knows what he is doing ( which is rare to find in Petco imo). I've talked to him several times.
