OK , so i redid the plants in my enclosure, i bought a larger ficus, but i think it might be too crowded. but it really helps with the humidty. and adds alot of well space for him to walk.
is it to crowded it is a pretty big ficus.

Looks good but be sure you test well with the misting system, ensuring the plant completely drys out between misting. I found out the hard way about 5 months ago with brush with URI. What species do you keep?

his lights then turn out at 5:00

basking lamp isn't needed because of mid day temps. but ill need it mid october.

First off you cant blame a chameleon for being to young. Second do 4 misting of 3-5 min. That is way to much it will be 100% humidity all day. You allways need a basking lamp. If you can not provide proper temps for montanes they are not going to live simple as that. I belive I told you this before. But if you can not provide a cool temp you need to go with a panther or veiled. That is my guess of why your guy might have died in the first place.

i can adjust the mister thats no big deal.
i don't think you quiet understand how the weather in arizona works, when the average humidty level is about 10% and on average a house doesn't get over 30%, things can get very dry very quickly. if a constant humidty of at least 60% needs to be maintained do i need to get a humidifier?


as for being 2 young a 2 month old jackson was very small, granted i have been told they are extremly hard to keep when they are little. my house doesn't get over 78F, but i admit my failure and it was probably entirely my fault.
if i absolutly need the basking lamp i will use it ill just have to suspend it further away from the enclosure., but i still don't plan on attempting another chameleon till october. after i have perfected temps and everything else.


my room on average is about 76F.

yes you have told me about the temps, and i understand montanes need cooler temperatures.

i just misted for oh , 3 mins and within 10 mins the humidty dropped from 80 to sub 60%

Ok then you need to invest in a humidifer not misting all day. And also I would give 12 hours of light

on the basking or UVB?

UVB bulb goes on for 7:00 to 5:00

i want to set the basking to go off mid day if thats even advisable.

Oh yea for sure, I have my montanes on for 1 hour 3 times a day. They just have to have it to digest food. They digest most food early morning. So i have mine turn on 45min after the uvb lights go on.

yah, i think ill definatly need to do that. its just by mid day if the AC for what ever reason goes off the house can get to 82, thats why im holding off till october when that won't happen, that and ill be moving out to somewere were i can control my temps easier.

Well if I was you and I wanted a jackson I would wait untill I could provide perfect temps for them. If not you will probley end up with the same problem.
