Red Tailed Hawk

Hey guys and gals!
I was on my way to work this morning, and on the way I stopped to see if a local hawk was at his usual spot.
I got lucky this time!
I've been bringing my camera to work for the past week for the chance to photograph this guy.
The first time I saw him I ran up to take some pictures, but running is a bad idea.
He screamed at me a few time and flew off.
Yesterday I saw him flying with a squrriel in his talons!
Anyways..Here are some pictures!

Just beautiful Justin. Great pics too. Here in Maryland regular and redtails are all over the place. There is a place along the Potomac River that has natural nests for bald eagles. I have yet to see one but some of my friends have. I love birds of prey.

I wish I had a better lens that would telephoto a bit more and had Vibration Reduction.
I was using a 300mm and needed atleast a 400mm to not crop the photos.
I'm ususally not a cheap ass, but I didnt think spending an extra 300 dollars more was worth it.
I'm kicking myself know.
I really couldnt get close enough, so I had to crop the pictures.
If I had a higher megapixel camera it wouldnt be so bad.
My D40 is only 6.1
I should have bought the D40x for an extra 100 dollars and got 10.2 megapixels.
