I just wanted to know if this plant is safe for my chameleon's cage as i dont have any live plants in there and i read it was better to have live plants to keep the humidity up. the only thing is that theres nobody near that could tell me what kind of plant this is, i would of course cover up the soil with river rocks, and it doesnt have any fertilizers or anything, its just outside my room...
Im a bit worried for the little green balls it has, do you think my chameleon could confse them with food?? thanks for the help...

that is a Geranium. Check and see if it is toxic. I am not sure. the green balls are buds that will turn into the red flowers you see.

what kind of chameleon do you have? Veilds are the ones who like to eat flowers and vegetation. I would check out more than one website on that and make sure, especially if you have a veild.

It's a panther chameleon, should i worry?

Most panthers don't eat vegetation like the veilds, but I have seen a few on here that do. I mean, I don't want to say don't worry and then have your chameleon eat it and get sick! As long as you have researched enough and you feel confident that the plant is safe, then I would go ahead and use it. If you are doubtful, then don't. It is not worth losing your chameleon to have a pretty plant in your cage!

Thanks :D i think it's safe

Do you think i have to wash the plant before placing it inside the cage? IF so, what's the right way to do it? It doesn't have any chemicals or anything...

I would wash it to be safe! Fill a bucket with some antibacterial soap and warm water, dunk the plant in upside down shake a bit rinse off repeat about 3-4 times.

Do you think that i have to put something else over the soil of the plant?? i put some river rocks on top of tha soil but they didnt cover all the soil, theres about 3/4 uncovered, do you think it could be dangerous if crickets get in there or something? should i place something else?
