another quick question

Also, What is the best/most efficient way to house a clutch of babies? i want to produce nice panthers and not have any issues with food competition so i was thinking about getting the dragon strand nursery cages, but just curious as to what some of you all do :)

They can start to lay as early as 6-7 months. It's best to wait a little longer though. It's best to let them grow up to around a year of age until you start to breed your girls.
For a laying bin I use a Tupperware type container that's about a foot deep a foot long and about 8 inches wide. But you could go bigger. I use a dirt sand mix. Make sure it's just wet enough for her to tunnel down without the tunnel collapsing on her.
For incubating I just setup my eggs on vermiculite then put them in a closet. Most people room temps work perfectly. Don't let the temps go any lower than 69 and no higher than 75.
Hope this helps you.
Good luck!

Welcome to the forums and the chameleon world. This is a great place to learn about chameleons and meet other keepers.
1. If you over feed and keep them to warm, they can start laying as early as 5 months. By 4 1/2 to 5 months old it's best to keep a laying bin in their enclosure at all times.
2. A 5 gallon bucket, a trash can or a rubbermaid tote.
3. A closet works fine for me.
4. Don't breed until your chameleons are over a year old and the females is of good weight.
