Ready to lay and doesn't like the bin

I provided a rectangle plastic trash can filled with dirt and sand. She has been in it and scratched around a little, but hasn't dug a hole. I am thinking about dumping the misture into a bigger trash can and seeing if she likes that any better. I know I need to put a stick in the misture, but should I cover it with a towel? She is a veiled and not real huge. She is also a very snarly lady.

Ideas please!

You did get the sand moist right? I use 5 gal buckets I remove all of the plants from the cage, Have a bio-vine hang down in the bucket. With about 12in of substrate at the bottom of it.
But if she is rejecting in you will have to change it

If she sees you watching her while she is digging, she will abandon the hole/digging "thinking" that its not a safe place to lay eggs.

Since she is so ornery, I just hope she doesn't think no place is safe, that is why I am asking if I should cover up the container with a towel or something, or just put it in another room.

i moved my ambilobe female into another room when she laid..i used a 35 gallon trashcan, and moist supersoil for the laying substrate..first day she dug a "fake" second day it was the real thing..

mine just had similar prob refused to lay in her cage was completely covered up for days with large laying container in her cage. at day 36 i took her out put her in a big tote like 160L bout 40galons i think could be wrong on g and covered the top had light on in ther within 30min she was digging and laid in that hole was like 20" long or more.
