Ready to get his adult cage?

Well Waldo is appearing increasingly anxious and active. He has started to pace his cage and climbs on the screen. Also, whenever the cage door opens he tries to climb out of the cage, not necessarily to me, but rather around me just to get out.

What size/age are they when they begin to want their adult cages? Whenever I see him displaying abnormal behavior I worry about him and just want to see if this is the real reason.

Last time I witnessed this behavior was about a month or so back, and a quick trimming of the plant to thin it out and give him more passageways corrected the behavior. This time, I thinned it out again, but the behavior is persisting.

To me, it does seem like this could be the reason and that he is merely ready for his next cage, but I figured I would see what you guys have to say about it as I have no experience with this.

What type of cham do you have, how old and big is he? What size cage is he in now? What size cage do you plan on putting him in?

He is a male veiled that is about 5-6 months old. He is in a 16x16x30 cage and I plan to put him in a 24x24x48 cage. Waldo is about 7 inches total length give or take.

I would give him another month or so. 7" isn't very large.... but if he is in a growth spirt I would get ready for that new cage... buy the plants for it... wash them... repot them and maybe buy one or two vines so when your ready to move him you have everything.

Will do, I'll get everything ready and I'll try to get an actual measurement. The 7 inch thing was a guess.

Thanks,
Jake
