Rango is a MESS!

This morning when the lights came on, Rango looked like any other Ambanja. He was under his basking ilght as usual starting the day off with a little "sun".

The unusual part was that he wasn't hungry and didn't run to the hand misting bottle to get his morning drink...kind of odd I thought to myself!

At 10:00, he looked like someone had poured candle wax all over him as he was going theough a full body shed.

This is the first time I've seen this, and it is awsome! YES...I took photos for the family album and took photos with my cell phone and sent them to my wife.

He's doing a pretty good job so far getting rid of the exces skin. He is yawning and puffing up, trying to break away all the loose skin and crawling through the vines and leaves like a NINJA CHAM!

His head is a LOT more colorful and I'm still waiting to see the rest of his body. I'm hoping he gets even MORE colors after this!

NATURE IS SO COOL to WATCH!

Shedding is always fun to watch. More fun for me that the Cham I think. They sure do look a mess and make a mess of their cages.

Yea they look pretty upset about shedding! Lol Koopa gave me a look like "please help me"! That means he's growing!!

He's a sub-adult Cham, almost 14" long.

Most of the skin has come off in BIG patches and he has even rubbed the small scales off his eye turrets so far.

He is still rubbing away and scratching at the smaller stuff.

I'll let him do his thing as I don't see any need to help him in any way + from what I've read in here, you shouldn't assist them anyway.

I'll try and increase the humifity a little with some extra hand mistings and let the MistKing do the rest.

I am expecting he will get his appetite back when this is all over!

After only 2 hours, Rango is no longer a MESS. His colors are really sharp and crisp, much brighter than before. He only has a little bit of loose skin at the tip of his tail.

Now, the bottom of the enclosure is a MESS!

He is back to his normal self again and just ate 3 crickets...ZAP...ZAP...ZAP... from my fingers !

My Rango Jr did the same skin shedding as Rango did (above text)..He will be 4 months on Sunday. This is the 2nd time this month..(1st time on the 6th of July)He is growing like crazy. I took pictures of him from start to becoming a big mess with skin falling off..I dont know how to post these pictures. I have him from light bluish pretty pretty pretty to shedding like a white veil off he is a Nosey bes but Im still not sure which locale he is from. Yes nature is quite amazing!

Haha yeah I got my first little panther a few weeks ago and he just shed a few days ago. At first I was worried because the spikes on the top of his back got all white and one cracked.

"Oh no! I'm going to have to post on the forum."

Sure as hell the whole body shell cracked and I realized what the deal was. I sprayed him a LOT that day with the warm water and he did go total ninja, certainly wasn't his first time at that rodeo. My favorite was him wrapping his tail up and then unwinding it on a vine to get it off!
