They should be fine in the rain, but I would make sure he has something to seek cover under (like a large leaf or something)
Also, I don't know about the water quality in LA...theres a fair amount of toxins in the clouds....I highly doubt it would be harmful to them, but just a consideration

It is raining hard! I am visiting and got caught in it about 2 hours ago.
I wouldn't though as its only around 50 - 53 degrees out and no sun.....If you do then dont leave him out too long and make sure he has time to bask/warm up well before bedtime......JMO.
