i put a plant in the shower and allow the MIST,.. not the direct spray /fall over the plant/cham..aim the shower head towards the wall of the shower. make sure the water is NOT hot.. it should be on the cooler side of warm to the touch...

My temp is comfortable for me. I leave them in for 15-20 minutes. My veild's actually like a bath better. I can hold them in my hand and rest it in a basin of warm water, making sure if they bolt off my hand they can't drown. They really relax in the water and only start to move again when I take my hand out. Sometimes they try to climb back into the water. I don't do it regularly or often.

Since I dont like to waste water, I put my guy on his plant while I shower. Not in the shower, but on the sink or something. They dont need direct, or indirect water, for that matter; they can rehydrate themselves by just breathing in a high humidity area. After my shower, I leave him in there for another 10 mins or so until the steam is gone. Overall, its about 20-30 mins.

Better idea Chamero. Waste is why I started to bath mine for rehydration or after laying eggs in dirt. I have switched to straight sand so they don't get black.

I dont bring my chameleons in the bathroom for a shower or indirect shower. I dont see the point, since I provide the humidty and drinking water they need in their respective enclosures.

I've only showered a chameleon if i suspected dehydration... not an every day/every week occurrence...

maybe every couple months wouldnt hurt..tap water isnt the best thing for them but a little wont hurt.. A long warm RO water misting session would be just as adequate..and a better option

Vince-Humidifiers help if you cant keep the humidity up in your cage(s)..

Thanks for the info.

I wont worry about the showering then. Since i suspect no dehydration. I knew people did it for hydration but, i also thought it was done because the chams enjoyed it.

i agree i never mist mine or shower it esp., just make sure it has white pee, and good humidity, if not up humidity and make sure its drinking....
