Quick question about Dubia.

While I have never used a heat lamp for that purpose, I dont see why not.
I have heard of others using them.
What are they/would they be housed in?

I think you will be glad you did, provided your chams eat them.
Mine prefer their dubia, but some are the other way around:rolleyes:

I would point the lamp at the side of the tote if I were going to use a lamp.
Others may have experience and can tell you better though.:eek:;)

I still use crickets, but I dont keep them on hand all the time.
I just buy a few here and their to help with variety.

the best way to heat dubia roaches is with a heat pad with tiles under the tub they are in best temp for breeding them is around 80 degrees F, also a quick good tip is give them a high protein diet like the bug burger from repashy and the repashy hydroload, if you dont give them a high protein diet they will start eating each other. make sure you have a bunch of egg cartons in the tub so they can hide (24x24 egg flats) so they can adjust their temps.

this is they way i breed them and i have a crap load in like less then a month and i started with about 35 roaches and that gave me about 350 babies plus.

remember temp and a high protein diet is key to the breeding to them!!!!

Alfalfa = awesomeness

Well I have a red bulb for my crickets so that it doesn't disturb them. I think that'll do the same thing for the Dubia. I just didn't know if that'll keep them as warm.

the thing is dubia roaches need complete darkness they hate any kind of light thats why you use a heat pad under the tub for proper breeding temps

I think heating from the bottom up and stacking the egg crates vertically allow them to get to different temps by climbing higher in the bin. That has worked great for me so far. I have thousands in several bins going and use the 11" heat tape wth a temp controller set at 90. I am not sure how it would work heating from above with a bulb but I suppose it could do the same thing in reverse.

heat tape will work also just like the heat pad put it on the bottom of the rubber tub and stack the egg flats in the tub so they can adjust their temps when they want to
