Welll you cold look up on the internet. h reason they are not good feeders is because they can have a natural defense that is toxic. I dont think it would harm an animal that big though.

yes i see they are POISON i am hopeing that the 1 he ate will not cause and issue..
lil bugger was too fast and i didnt see the bug

well i must have been alittle bitter, he just spent 5min drinking straight from the misting bottle. maybe that'll learn him...

I doubt you need to worry. They taste bad (one reason for their color is a warning) so he's not likely to try another. He'd probably have to eat a lot at once to cause trouble.

Exactly kind of like when a dog sniffs a candle they never do it again. Hop it will be OK (it probablly will)

Lady bugs are toxic to bearded dragons and chameleons and likely some other reptiles too. They contain an alkaloid toxin which they can spray at the predator or exude in the predator's mouth. The question is, is he big enough to handle one....wish I had an answer.

he is big enough to handle it, i have had a small flapneck who accidentally ate one, and he is fine, i generally would say if they weigh any less than 28 grams, its a risk. The toxin is mainly a taste but it is still toxic and can cause some damage, but i dont think its deadly to one fo yours' size

lol, he's one for learning the hard way is he? offer him one next week and see what he does.......(make sure he can't actually get it of course)

hoj there was a member on here quite a while back who's chameleon had died mysteriously, well that is what they thought and then they realized it had eaten a bunch of lady bugs as the outdoor cage was infested with them. that chameleon had eaten quite a few of them though. If yours only ate one, I am hoping it is not enough to cause any ill effects. Don't mean to scare you, maybe you could search and find the post. Hopefully everything will be ok. Keep us posted!

Come on Hoj, the people want to know. How is Gizmo doing? I personally know I would hear you screaming all the way across Canada if Gizmo had any problems.:)

hello, thx for the help and concern, Gizmo is doing just fine. silly lil brat, but they do love to scare us dont they.. i have not seen any effects and it has been almost a week so i feel we are good.
