At what age could veiled chams start reproducing??

As early as 5 months. But at that age you should only be feeding her 3 times a week and her basking temp should be at 80 degrees so you can either stop her from laying or reduce her clutches.

Well I think I just saw both my chams reproduce I had them in the same cage today due to cleaning n yahh I think they did it lol

Well that is not good. Your female is way to young and a fertile clutch can be a lot on her since she is so young. That really wasn't responsible of you to put a male and a female together and let them mate on accident. She'll probably lay in around 30 or so days from now. You need to get a 12" deep laying bin in her enclosure.

Yes it could. She needs the calcium for her bones at this age. Usually people mate females at over a year because her bones will have been developed more and better and she won't have to take much or none at all from her bones to calcify her eggs.

yeah, it can take a toll....

either shortening her life or die from laying too many or too weak


i suggest extra plain calcium in her food maybe alittle more multivitamin too, maybe get more awsome sunshine(have shade), alot more water, keep her heat temp a lil low in the 80's

and have a laying bin ready

I was going to ask if extra calcium would be good. The body will let the eggs take what they need and eggs take lots of calcium.

Any idea how much extra calcium should be used? Would liquid calcium supplements help make sure the animal can continue to develop while producing eggs?

females should always be a year just till shes commpletely ready and so that shes strong enough and males can reproduce at a young age but i would say a little under a year just so hes fully prepared

Liquid calium would be great for her and the eggs. Jann gives her female some, I forget how much up until she lays and after the female lays. But I would get some.
