Question on timeline for veiled eggs...

My first batch is a few days older than 6 months now. I do not see any signs of sweating.. I am starting to get the neonate stuff together, their bin, the jungle gym, the lighting and the misting.. the misting is taking me a little longer to figure out how to make it mist on a timer.. (DIY not a pro system)

How long, generally, from sweating to hatching for veileds? I am keeping them in my closet, it is usually between 75 and 85 (85 only when my air cond. breaker is tripped.. )

I read somewhere they will hatch if the temperature changes, to imitate spring in nature, when most of the bugs are hatching.. What in my home might cause this effect?

I really, really do not want to be scrambling to have their place set up when they need it to be perfect. Please help..

veiled eggs take 7-9 months to hatch, of course dependent on the temps.

my eggs were laid beginning of april, and i dont expect mine to start hatcing until middle of november at the earliest.

for now- just wait. do not raise temps on your own, as this can cause them to hatch prematurely, and then you got sickly babies, or dead ones.

just let them be.

dont mist the eggs directly when you need to moisten whatever they are nestled in.

misting the eggs after a certain point can also trigger premature hatching.

hope this helps!

how long?

Thanks for getting back to me. Do you know how long I have to finish the final details of the baby bin, from the time they start to sweat?

Also, I did not want to make them hatch early, really wanted to avoid doing it my accident.. More what to avoid..

pretty much what i already told you will avoid them hatching early.

and from the time yo see the first one sweat, it can be a a few hours, to a few days. its just dependent on how stubborn the hatchling is.
