So I was just wondering about how long in between a clutch can a female panther cham lay another clutch on retained sperm?!

My female just laid a clutch of 34 eggs that were bright white except 3 that were yellowish looking compared to the others!! Ive got them in perlite inside another container with a loose fitting lid inside my closet that the temps are around 74 degrees!!

Cool thanks... do you know how much water I need to have in the perlite my eggs are in?! how do you know if its too much or not enough?!!!

Do a 1 to 1 mix lets say 200 grams of perlite and then you will add 200 grams of water. that how I do it. but other people do it differant

cool thanks... I think Im going to go ahead and add a little more perlite just to be safe!! I think i just put a wee bit too much water?! will the eggs be okay if I move them again?

she finished burying them around 8 pm mountain time! so about 3 hours ago!!! she finished laying and started burying them around 330 ish!! which puts them being laid around 7-8 hours ago!! I want to get this right?!

It is still fine to move them. O you can also take perlite and water mix it togather and then grab a hand full and squeeze the sh*# out of it until only one drop comes out and then you should be good that way to.

so i just noticed on the bag of miracle grow perlite I bought it says its enhanced with miracle gro plant food?!!!! do you think it will hurt the eggs?!?!

okay sooo I read that it will promote mold growth so I am changing it in the am! when is it not good to move the eggs? I know its never good to but I grabbed the wrong perlite and no where is open til around 8 in the morning here (mountain time)

Yeah I agree with everything texas ranger said and you def do not want any chemicals. I use vermiculite but I hear perlite works just the same I just never tried it with perlite let me know how it goes.
GOOD LUCK!:)

Im going to see what I can find this morning! Hoepfully Vermeculite, if not going to have to buy Perlite (without that damn chemical in it! LOL).

But I will keep everyone updated on their progress!

the only thing i could find earlier this year in pearlite was that miracle grow stuff. It was winter and NOBODY had vermiculite. I didn't use it. I opted instead for coconut fiber mixed with sand (I find coconut fiber on its own dries out very quickly!). Same concept though. Squeeze the heck out of it. This was for my beardies. It worked out very well for me.

edit: BTW coconut fiber can be found in compressed bricks at pet stores. Decompresses to a large amount. I use this in my 55 gal tanks for my female beardies about a foot thick in the entire tank when they are about to lay instead of a laying box (I have a snobby dragon) and thats like 3 bricks!
