Question about leopard geckos

I was thinking about getting pygmys or a red eyed tree frog but I found Im gonna get a gecko instead, maybe a few geckos :)
I know many of you own and breed leopard geckos too, so I figured id ask on here.
Ive had one baby a long time ago when I was little but didnt know much about reptiles so I have him to a guy my grandma knew(BIG bird lover, also had a l gecko)
But anyways, im buying a leopard gecko from this girl who has it in a screened cage(like what youd put a younder cham in) not many hide spots and no heat lamp. But it does have a under tank heater. I figured Id help the little guy out and buy him and put him in a proper setup and use the cage as a backup cage for my chams or something. From what I have read they cn be kept in a 10 gal tank? could I get a terrarium to put him in? The ones that look like one of the smaller cham screen cages but its glass? Also if I had, say 4 geckos, how big of a cage should I put them in? And I read they mostly eat millworms and can ear crickets too.
So I figure, I have a 10 gallon tank. I go out and buy some sand, heat lamp, hide spots, water dish, and put a little dish of calcium powder in its tank, is this all right? Please let me know if I need to change anything!!

i have my small albino leopard gecko in a 10 gal tank...i just have paper towels, a log/stick thingy, a couple rocks, and a little hut thing that i made....some ppl use sand as a substrate but i heard that it can cause impaction...same as a chameleon...some actually eat the sand for calcium....anyways my bigger gecko is in a bigger tank...i use wood chips in that one....i know they eat crickets and silkworms...i actually went to feed my albino a silkworm one time and he missed and got my finger...it scared the crap put of me...lol...(i didnt hurt)..i find they dont really like drinking out of a dish....i have one in their tank but i also spray the sides of the tank...is there anything else you need to know...if so just ask...i think i covered it...lol
 
You do not need a heat lamp as long as the UTH keeps the temps right.
If you feed them on sand, then most likely, your gecko will get impacted.
You need 3 hides, a humid hide, a cool hide and a warm hide.
You could keep them in the 18x18x18 exo terra's if you wanted to get the "terrarium" look
Four geckos could live in a 30-40 gallon. Make sure there 3 females & one male or all females.
Calcium dish of plain calcium, and dust your insects with calcium w/d3
 
Thanks you guys! Im trying to get as much information as possible. Ive read so many different things about them online, one site saying to do something and a different site saying not to. So ill stick with acking you guys who have exprience :). For now im going to keep it in a 10 gallon tank with a under tank heater. I find paper towels are a bit tacky looking.. Could I use that reptile carpet? Or will there little nails get stuck? Ive hears wood chips are bad too because they can eat them.

yeah..the reptile carpet will work..i had some of that already in my tanks...i like paper towels cause you can just throw them away...lol.....geckos are def fun...mine remind me of a puppies....they are full of personality.....and so darn cute:D

I know! I had a baby one when I was in middle school I think it was? Or maybe it was my last year in elementary. But I have him away not long after I got him because I had never had any reptiles before and it was hard getting my mom to take me to get him food lol. But now I have a job and can do it myself :). The one im getting is 3, he's from a pet store but I dont care. Im thinking about getting this one from a breeder. It's a male though so I have to see if the one im getting from the girl is male or female :).. Im so excited. How many do you have?

i have 1 male leopard and 1 albino...when i got her/him he/she was to small to tell the sex....i was hoping for a girl...but i never really checked....i kinda think its a boy though.....i'll have to check...lol....i am in the process of getting a williamsi day gecko....actually i want 1 male and 1 or 2 females....you should google them they are beautiful!!!

Ive changed my mind about the one gecko i was planning on getting. Instead im getting this BEAUTIFUL boy! I saw him and decided I have to get him :). He's about.. 6 and a half months old.. Ill be on the search to find him a beautiful mate later :) Ill post a picture of him!

Haha yep lol. I already love the little guy and I havnt even met him yet! Im sending him the money friday night, so I should be getting the little guy next week! I cant wait!

:D I cant wait to get him and spoil him. Im getting everything he needs for his tank probably saturday, so I have everything ready to go when he gets here!
