Im worried the temperature is to high as ive been reading that it should be around 100-110 in the basking area. But my thermometers reading that at the opposite side of the viv.

Is this to hot? if so any suggestions on how to improve the heating conditions?

sorry if the infos a bit vague only got my cham a few days ago and kin dof worried if every things ok^_^

Way too hot. A couple of month old should not be more than 80 or 82. You are cooking him in a glass cage.

I agree, too much heat there. Ideally for a glass enclosure, you'll want to maintain a basking spot of about 90F and it should go down to about 80 on the cool side. You can help keep it cooler with air flow + misting with cool water.

As it grows to an adult, you can turn up the basking temp to about 100F-105F, but make sure that the bulb isn't so close that your cham will get burned. Surface burns on veiled chameleons is pretty common due to the lights being too close.

the lights in the top right corner. With both my uv and spot light of the vivs temp is at about 80 degrees atm.

I found this site to be very useful, and about 99% of everyone here know's what they are talking about....take their advice to heart. Another thing that you may need, as it was not mentioned before...is to buy a hydrometer to keep track of your humidity levels. One last comment is to not go cheap. You now have a very beautiful creature, and it is DEPENDING ON YOU for it's survival. Im not saying that I am an expert, as I just have a little over a month experience...but for a baby, glass enclosure's are ok...but about you will soon NEED strong ventilation which an all screened enclosure is made for. You could either order it online, or build it yourself.

Try to just use a 35w standard house bulb for now to lower temps. My enclosure is a 3.5' x 2.5' x 6' and I use a 200w bulb (because my house is chilly) which brings the basking temp to around 95* F. I found out that when you first set up an enclosure, it is a long game of mix and match to find out what comination of items you need to get things stable and ideal.

Good luck!

think i described my viv wrong^_^
its basically wood with 13 vent holes with glass sliding doors.
Ill try it out with a normal house bulb during the day tomorrow.
Thanks for the help so far :)
