Question about Compact-Fluorescent Bulbs?

I own a Zoo Med Reptisun 5.0 UVB for my 6 month ambilobe panther. I looked around online and I heard it can hurt reptiles eyes, but it is rare. Should I be concerned? Any advice appreciated.

That was in the first bulbs that came out. The problem has since been fixed. Im using one now for our baby male veiled, picking up my ambilobe panther thursday.and I think a compact fluorescent is being used with him too.

Thank you, Gavinsons! I was worried because I didn't want him to have more problems. Can you use the 10.0 ones for when they are older?

I'm not sure I would use a 10.0 CFL bulb. Many of use prefer using linear bulbs as they light more of the cage area. I'd also suggest looking in to the Arcadia bulbs rather than stick with CFLs.

I use the 10.0 now. You have to remember if tour top is small screen you will lose 50% of the light. I use a 12% bulb on my custom cage. Talk with lightyourreptiles.com he can shed more light on this.
