So as well as having a gravid female, my very randy male has been terrorising 1 of the other 2 females in the tank. He only seems to chase 1 of the unpregnant ladies though.

He seems to chase this one lady cham everywhere and she does her little dance to tell him to get lost.

this morning though, within minutes of turning on the lights, he jumped on her and then locked in to her in what i can only assume is the mating position, he was buzzing around a little bit and the whole process only lasted maybe 5 minutes. do you think that a 5 minute mate could result in succesful egg laying? im thinking that if it was successful, then april 12ish should be egg day?

its probably worth noting the 2 chams where not on the floor of the tank, they were on the background of the exo-terra facing down towards the base of the tank.

Im thinking this will be one of many matings with both of them now, I think they will do it a few times more probably also not lasting very long but I guess 5 minutes is fine. So yeah you should have some eggs soon. I wish I could get some rampholeons!

Well i managed to catch my male pygmy being given the "get away from me" dance from one of my females! if you look to towards the top left, you will see my tubby little gravid female watching and towards the centre of the screen, the female is placed vertically on a branch with the male on the other side of the branch hedging his way towards her! she doesnt like him im sure!!

My female does none of this... she is either the boss and he is a 'fraidy cat or he knows she is already in the family way and waiting to lay again.

I want more females, i think the dynamics of the enclosure would become more interesting

Well Gary, if I have 2 that are going to lay you can always have one of the baby females when they arrive! its so funny, he keeps seeing the one that he hasnt mated with yet and all around his eyes go bright green when he is in his stripey beige colours. i think she is next poor thing!
