Give a shout if you Have Pygmy Brev's that you got in the mail. My question to y'all: I'm wondering what the mortality rate is, and if you received yours all alive, or if any were DOA. I want to end up with a trio of 1.2, and am getting cb young ones. Should I start with 2.3 to factor in a mortality rate? The breeder is very reputable, so that's not even a worry.

CB are very hardy! I wouldn't worry about DOA, if it happens, contact the breeder. They will either give you a refund, or another animal.

1.3 WC sent here over a week ago, all in fantastic shape!
The more research I do, the happier I am that I went with WC!
From most reports and people I have talked with ... the WC animals are feistier and live to breed.
I will say great advantages to cb animals is knowing their age and knowing they are probably pretty clean.
CB animals haven't been shipped around a bunch either.
Either way they are amazing little machines and much tougher than you could ever imagine ... a little overnight trip will be nothing for them.

Pygmies in WA

Hey, I live in Bellevue, WA and i might get some pygmies after I sell my veiled and I cant find captive bred, and i'd prefer not to have to pay for shipping, and if you are breeding them, when Im ready, do you think you might want to sell some?(maybe 2-3 females)

Great to hear that yours are doing so well, Brad. I know there are pros and cons to both CB and WC. My main reason for going CB is that I want the challenge of raising them from a very young age to breeding age. I'm getting them from Mike in FL, so I know at least they'll be healthy to begin with. Fingers crossed :)

I recently bought a 1.1 R temporalis that I believe were either CB or were in captivity for awhile (they are 18 months old). The male died two days after arriving at my place (local pick up). Anyone breed R. temporalis?

So far my 1.2 R. brevicaudatus that are WC are doing fine after arriving on Monday (keeping fingers crossed here)

I ordered 1.2 R. kerstenii from the same guy I got the brevs from . The male was DOA and by the time I got a replacement one of the females has died so I am down to a 1.1 pair. Anyone breed R. kerstenii?

1.2 from FL Chams ten days ago (from the same batch as Brad's); fine when they arrived and fine now. (Somebody had his hand on somebody else's eye turret when I opened the container, but that doesn't seem to have caused any problems.)
