Pygmy chameleon natural sunlight?

Hi all. Today is the month-aversery of me keeping my first baby bearded pyg. She seems to be doing very well, I'm following this care-sheet and it seems to have helped immensely.

I haven't gotten her a UVB yet, but now she's a month old I'm considering investing in one. I was going to take the better safe than sorry route to avoid any MBD risks, but I saw someone else post that the light may damage their sensitive eyes and generally stress them out. She's currently in a room that gets plenty of natural daylight, though in a shady area of it, should that give her enough UV or should I still invest in the bulb.

Any thoughts are appreciated, especially from those that have raised pyg hatchlings. thanks!

In the wild Rieppeleon brevicaudatus is commonly found in areas that gets full sunlight all day long. If you give your animals some outside time you will be just fine. For outside time make sure they are in a screen cage with plenty of leaf litter and place the cage in a area that is shaded by a tree or some other covering.

Congratulations on your baby!

In the room she is in, I am assuming there is a window correct? UVB light is blocked by glass, so she's not really benefiting too much from the light. I would buy the UV bulb and also give her outside time. It's the best of both worlds. If you're wanting to go outside and just soak up the sun you can bring her out there in her cage (screen as Carl suggested), and sit out there with her.
