i was wondering if my current set up is adequate, i just want to be absolutely sure
i dont have the florecent 5.0 tube and im working on investing in the fixture
however i am currently using 2 spiral exo tera 5.0 uvbs and 1 zoo med daylight blue reptile bulb 100 watt in a deep dish spot lamp or whatever u call them i got the second because i was worried he wasnt getting uva and just uvb.
i live in my basement but i have a window sill that the sun comes through.

First of all unless you have the window open, the sun coming through will do not benefit as sunlight does not pass through glass. What are your temps? Depending on how high up or low you have your basking branch, 100 watt is probably too much wattage. I would just get a regular old household white bulb. A 60 watt will probably do ok. I would not use two 5.0 spirals. Just the one til you get the tube light.

agree with carol. need more information to give you adequate feed back. i think you already know the answer to your question though. you prob wont find anyone here finding a spiral sufficient.

if your worried about the proper uvb til you get your linear...get him outside in some natural sunlight.

how are you measuring your temps?

do you have any pics of your set up?

are you only dusting supplements once every two weeks?

also the zoo med says it provides uva and can be used with reptisun 5.0 fluorescent

If you only have an 85 basking with that 100watt bulb then that is ok. You can use that. you need to get a calcium without d3 and use that at every feeding. Use the cal/with d3 twice monthly along with the multivitamin. What are you using to measure your temps though?

measuring temps with analog thermometer and hygrometer, and digital thermometer, he really wont touch the crickets if there dusted....

maybe you are dusting them too heavily?. You don't want them looking white like little ghosts! Have you tried any other types of feeders? He should have a more varied diet then just crickets.

also it is a moutainous species, there d3 intake is less than say veileds, or panther chameleons..i would use only one of the spiral bulbs(then toss them as soon as you get the good tube version 5.0)
