Prolapse please help!!

Sooooo I was checking his sutures and it looks like there is a tiny area that is trying to prolapse again. Called the vet and they wanted me to come in again to adjust the sutures. I’m not sure if I could try the sugar water since he has sutures?

Get him back into the vet... Get a bottle of ky jelly without any additives water based only. You want to keep that on hand anything that comes out like that should have it put on to keep it moist. You see this most commonly when chams that are having a hard time passing fecal. Increasing moist insects and opportunities to drink is very important.

Saw the vet yesterday. They said it looks ok and at one point it had gone all the way back in. They said he is probably pushing a bit because it feels weird. He pooped out a half digested horn worm this morning (he ate two yesterday with his laxative meds.)I tried to give him a horn worm and a silk worm to get his medicine in him but he wasn’t having it. Gonna have to open that little mouth on my own 🤦🏻‍♀️

If absolutely needing to open her mouth, be very gentle and hold her casque with one hand and I gently (gentle is the big theme of it all) place a finger on each side of her jaw joint with a light pressure. If that fails to work, I’ve used a guitar pick to open a stubborn little mouth or even something like a credit card would work as long as the edges aren’t sharp.

@MissSkittles gave some really good advice on how to open a chams mouth here. Although your little guy doesn't have a casque I'd imagine it's somewhat the same.

That's great to hear it wasn't a full on emergency and he's slowly getting better.
