Over the past week I have noticed this poking out of his butt I thought it was poop he was trying to pass but he has been passing poop and it's not coming out with it, not sure what it is though, I gave him a warm bath earlier to see if it would loosen things up, help!

Hello!
Welcome to CF!
Super glad you found us, this is the right place to ask for help;)

Can you describe the "thing" or share a picture?

Sperm plugs are whitish in color, a hemipenis is bright red and looks like a sea mushroom, if its red/pink and bulgy, it could be a prolapse of the internal organs.

Does it remain out? Or go back in?

What type of chameleon?

How old is it?

I just posted a picture, he is about 1 yrs old.

If its his insides, and its been out that long, then it is probably necrotic tissue(it was out and not kept moist so the tissue is dead/dying).

A vet visit is needed IMMEDIATELY, they may be able to surgically remove the dead portion, and save him.

You need to keep it covered in KY Jelly untill you get him to the vet.
This will keep it from drying further.

I'm posting a closer pic, tell me if you can better determine the problem from what you see.

He needs to see a vet as soon as absolutely possible. It appears to be a serious prolapse of internal organs and he is in grave danger. But, IMHO, he is not beyond help by any means. This is a treatable issue as long as you can get him to a vet. At this point I don't think it is possible to treat him at home by any stretch of the imagination.

Whatever exactly that is coming out is for the vet to find out I think, it really looks like an internal organ prolapse, not a sperm plug or poop though.

Is there anything i can do for him tonight that might help?

Yes, keep it coated in KY.;)

kinky.

had it been that coloration the entire time? honestly it looks like feces to me...the lighter orange tan stuff being urate and the rest a big ol chunky poop.

but maybe im entirely off target. if it were a prolapse id assume it would look more like the rim of the cloaca or at the very least not such a distinct transition

but yeah if its feces and is lodged due to compaction or dehydration keeping him hydrated and the lube will help till you can get him to the vet.

Honestly I'm kind of happy to hear u say that because I've been looking up prolapses and his was never pink it was also that dark color like poop that's y I assumed it was just poop he was having trouble passing. I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to afford to take him to the vet though :/

If you cannot remove the oddity, and the animal is still defecating, it IS a prolapse!

This is a serious issue, but he can be saved! Please keep it moist, and get him to a vet!!!

I dont think its a prolapse, ive had a prolapse situation once and it was very pink, it could be that its fecal matter that wont come out, i would try and keep it moist though, in some cases they can still poo when they are impacted, You should still see a vet though, just in case, they will also probably be able to get it out more safely, snake i really dont think its a prolapse, when my cham had a prolapse he could barely move his back legs, and he had his eyes closed in periods, is he displaying these symptoms? still bring him to the vet though

A prolapse could cause a myriad of different symptoms, depending on how severe it is, and how long it goes untreated.

If that is fecal matter, it would stand to reason that the OP would be able to remove it.

The OP states that it has been in this condition for four days, enough time for it to dry out, and become necrotic.

No matter what it is, I see know harm in keeping it moist, there is inner tissue that is pinkish in color around the base of the deformity. Keeping the area moist should be the main focus of the OP no matter what.
Their second focus should be to get it to a vet.

keeping it moist i completely agree is a must. Although i dont think KY gel is the best idea (i know its kinky deku) i think he should put an aloe moisturizing cream on it, It could sit there for days it doesnt mean its a prolapse, it would also take alot of effort to get it out. the pinkish color i dont see a pinkish color at all. Every prolapse case ive seen has had alot of weakening of the rear legs, and almost always lethargic activity. The vet is a good idea though, find one that specializes in exotics and look it up on this website to make sure they wont fck u over like a vet did to me once, http://www.vetratingz.com/

KY was originally made for this EXACT use.
That is, to keep internal tissue moist and protected when exposed.

I will agree that it resembles fecal material.

I will assert, that the OP needs to put KY on it four days ago.

Agreed 100%, and get to the vet. This is an urgent situation. Solid Snake has given great advice all through this thread. If you have trouble paying ask the vet if you can pay in instalments..........
