Pregnant female or sick male

Hi i was at the garden centre today in the reptile bit and i saw this Yemen and my first fort was it's a female that needs to lay but there was nothing for her to lay in so i told the man working there and he said it was a male so i said are you sure (now im new to chams so i wasn't 100%) so i said if it's a male surely there's something wrong cos his belly surely shouldn't be like that but he didn't care
So can someone tell me if it is a pregnant female or a male sick or healthy as i want to go back tomorrow and make sure it's ok

It looks like a female that needs to lay to me. Also she looks quite sick and need a vets help. She is rather dehydrated, the eyes are sunken pretty bad. If she is unable to lay she will die. Again, if you can convince the owner that she needs vet care ASAP, she may survive, otherwise all you can do is try to educate him and move on. If he is unwilling to set up a lay bin, then he truly does not care for this beautiful animal at all (since he is in a garden center and has everything he needs on hand).

The guy in the garden center is wrong, but what a surprise. You can see the outline of an egg above her right hip it looks like. Poor thing.

Yeah, definitely a female that is sick and egg bound. She needs some major help very quickly.

Right I went back today and they have put a tub with some earth in it I also made them give it a good misting and told them to make sure it stays misted I also advised them to get her to a vet but they didn't look impressed and said she's fine they said they have been moving her between vivs so I told them do they really think that's the best idea but i just got the unimpressed look again
I will go back in a couple of days and see how she's doing and I will let you all know

how sad, I feel sorry for that cham in that shape. I hope someone is able to help her get back to good health.

i have been back to see her and she looks alot better she dosn't look like she has laid but dosn't look as big and has some colour back in her and just looks healthier
I will try and go back a couple of times a week over the next couple of weeks and keep you informed on her progress
