I have a custom cage that i built. it is a 2 feet X 2 feet X 5 feet cage. i have a regular bulb which gets the basking spot 80 degrees and a repti sun 5.0. I am going to put in a daylight bulb on the oppisosite side cause the other side has a plant that is alot lower then where his basking spot is. and i feel like the rest of the cage is to cold. There will still be a lot of spots that will be nice and cool for him to get out of the heat. I was wondering if i shld get a powersun bulb or a repti sun 10.0? I heard that the powersun can give them to much UVA/UVB? any advice

you should get a laser Temp. gun to accurately read the
temps of your cage

I would not get a 10.0 UVB bulb or a powersun bulb unless you have
a UVB meter. They can be quite dangerous if you dont know what is going on

why are you putting another bulb??

because the way that the plants are it is kinda dark in the cage cause the bulb is only in a corner above a pathos, but the other pathos and the hibiscus get dark cause the basking spot blocks the rest of the cage so i wanted to put another one ontop toward the other side. all the hang out spots are a lower then the basking spot o aet it up so there was many different levels he can hang out at. so even with the other bulb he can still cool dwn.

Stick with the normal 5.0 and 60 watt basking bulb. Getting the daylight bulb will help a lot with the plants and the light in his cage. Also the basking spot should be 85 degrees, so either higher the wattage or lower the lamp so it's closer to the cage.

ok so run the two bulbs and the 5.0. thank you wat about running 2 5.0's in different parts of the cage? it just seems like it isn't enough for the bigger cage... I may be completely under estimating how much UVB that it gives out though.

Well if you have a really large cage a 10.0 should be fine. Get a uvb meter. Try lllreptile or pangeareptile. (our sponsors)

its 2feet deep X 2feet wide X 5feet tall. i have two hanging pathos at different levels. as well as a hibiscus at the bottom. What you think? How much UVB shld the meter read? Srry for asking ao many questions but this is all new to me. The UVB and UVA levels and stuff. thank you so much for your help

Oh then I would stick with the 5.0. I really don't know what the uvb meter should read, sorry :\ No problem!
