Power

I remember when all you could get in order to combine various electrical needs what an extension cord, an adapter, and eventually a power strip. Now there is so much out there; even some herp companies selling power strip type units which include timers, etc. Can anyone suggest an efficient way to manage all the electrical needs that go along with keeping chams? I have seen some different things which are appealing, but I cannot tell if they are just "money makers". Any suggestions?

You can go to Home Depot and pick up digital timers that are programable to every day of the week. This is what I use. It even comes with a remote:) I would suggest getting a power bar that is outdoor rated because of the possibility of moisture from from misting. Also power surge is a good thing to look at in a power bar.

Thanks. I was thinking of going that route. Now... can one of these timers handle more than one thing, let's say a heat lamp and a uv lamp? Or would I need two separate timers? The misting system I am ordering has a timer and I will plug that into a separate outlet.

They only have one outlet each. The one below is what I use. I assume you are not in Canada so you should be able to find one similar at Home depot.

This would be similar...
