Power outage problem

I'm going to buy a UPS to connect my stuff to. I have one for my modem/router/phone/laptop/NAS and it lasts about 6 hours when the power goes off. Which knock on wood isn't that often.

Do you use a herpstat?

Reason for asking, I remember when setting mine up a few weeks ago. It said that some generators can cause them to malfunction.

This is the one I currently have connected to my NAS/home network. It will email me when the power goes out and gracefully shut down my stuff. Funny thing it was only $189 back when I bought it in 2014.

It all depends on how much you have connected and how long you want it to last when the power goes out.
