powder room crickets

So i just got some good vitamins for my cham for the 1st time powdered up my crickets really good in a zip lock and let them out. The crickets run free in the cage. After about 20 mins or more they all seem as if they had cleaned there self's i guess this is ok? i am guessing there would still be good trace amounts of it on them in some way? there are no longer a light white.

The idea is to feed them when they have a light dusting of powder. You don't want 'ghost' crickets, but a light coating on all of them will be enough. If your cham is eating them all in 20 mins that sounds ideal.

he only eats one or two a day but only when he wants it seems kinda random. but i try to keep like six in there because they are free room. I want him to have a good pick and maybe eat more if he feels like it. i got the powder last night so fed him kinda late he ate one there's 5 left, but like i said he eats when he wants lol.I feed him not long after i get up most the time if there's not many in there. Do you think they would still have trace amounts of the powder or should i powder again? just want to get this powder thing right.

The powder is important, if he's not eating much then it would probably be best if you can put his crickets into a bowl they can't climb/jump out of. This will help to keep at least some of the powder on them.

im guessing he would find them there? i have only seen him go to the bottom to hunt like 2 times and that was when i 1st got him since then he just kinda more or less pics them off as they walk by when he feels like it. he stays in the same part of the cage most the time but im still working on getting a cage in the mail hes still in the shitty aquarium.....Alot of times the crickets will be around him and he wont eat them they seem to bug him more when they get close. I do see him eat most days at least one a day so i know he eats. i see people on here feeding like 8 a day though my guy only eats like one.....hope that's ok i figer if hes hungry he would eat them so i guess hes ok?

also he dose move around the cage from time to time or i guess just when ever he feels like it but most the time he hangs out around his heat lamp. ill try to get some pics on here today.

The pics would be really helpful. I've not had a Senegal before but obviously the amount and size of feeders they eat will vary depending on size and age of cham.

He really should be eating more crickets than that. A typical healthy juvenile will eat up to 10-15 a day (while growing) and adults will still eat 3-5 per days with regularity


If he's eating and weight is good, its probably okay, but I would monitor him to make sure he isn't eating too little. Have you considered cup feeding? I find it much more efficient and controllable (and no random crickets running around)

Still not to sure what that means cup feeding. Do you mean just any old cup like a coffee cup? And also i see that he has lots of opportunity's but wont strike them. its seems to be only when he feels like it leading me to be leaving hes got all the food he needs. i see him drinking wich is good i feel like he could use just a little more weight though.

Any cup or bowl which the crickets can't get out of, but in which he can easily see them and get to them. It's just easier to be sure how much he's eating and helps keep the powder on them. Chams often have skinny little arms, so maybe he's a good weight, that's partly why pics would be so useful.......the pet store seems to have misled you so much and even adult senegals are pretty small compared to other chams......
