hi..

ive noticed a lime gree line either side of the spikes on my veileds back, just wondering if this is some form of burn?

any info would be great.

ive posted a pic on my gallery.

He's a nice looking veiled. I can't see anything in the pictures that look like a burn. Normally a burn is black. Can you post a better picture of the area that you think might be a burn?

I think I have an idea of what he means. Its like a miscoloring? I have seen some bright little spots of lime green on my veiled once. I don't think its a burn.

its like 2 lime green lines down his back, i thought a burn would be black, wasnt sure if it was a burn or some form of blister i will upload a better pic

this is the best pic i could get.

Woah, thats wierd. I haven't seen that with my veiled. Just like a little spot but it goes away. Maybe yours is unique?

Could someone help him by telling him what that is on his cham? I am kind of interested in knowing also.

My chameleon has very similar coloration around his casque and the ridges above his eyes. I'm wondering whether to be concerned and any advice would be much appreciated.

I don't think it's a cause for alarm, but of course, only a vet can tell for sure. Does it look like normal smooth skin or does it look irregular in a way besides the color?

Doesn't really look like thermal burns. When i rescued my veiled he had some pretty bad ones but they healed up just fine with no trip to the vet. However, that green line is pretty strange, never seen that before. Were his spine spikes always orange? I would expect his crest to be showing some burn signs too if that was the case. What kind of bulb are you using in the basking light? you don't want him to be able to get too close to it, esp if its really hot...

Assuming that he is not shedding, I have seen some cases of fresh thermal burn showing discoloration like that.

But, best to consult with a herp vet to make sure and to get a medication of some sort. This way, in case if it is indeed a burn, you will have a medication to combat infections.
