Poop!

So I have noticed that since I switch to Dubia roaches (not all Dubia I have been throwing in some hornworm…. which all died last night) her poop has changed which is too be expected but I have been noticing that in her poop has still had the wings in it and the actual poop looks more like a roach.

Now does this mean that the roach is too big for here and she is not able to digest it all or is this normal?

My chameleon is a 5-6 month female veiled.

what time of the day are you feeding her? from what I have read on here is if you feed too close to lights out (within 3 hours) there is not enough time for a cham to bask and digest therefore excreting undigested or partially undigested food.

I am feeding her like 2 hours after her lights turn on. She usually goes and immediately basks under her light for a couple of hours after eating/misting in the morning

in that case I have no clue, it could be that whatever the wings are made of just does not digest? i would like to know the answer to that too.

The male dubia has the wings and they do show up right away. How big are the dubia's that have wings you are feeding? More than likely if they have wings, it's too big. Feeders should be as big as the space between the chams eyes for bugs and worms can be bigger since they are softer. Maybe post a pic of the poop.

What are the basking temps? Maybe the feeders are to big for her size or she's eating to much. When was the last fecal done?

I bet that is what it is its about 2 inches maybe a little less. I gues i amd going to have to let the adults breed then. my wifey isnt going to be too happy.

The basking temps are 85ish depending on if the A/C is on. I only feed her one Roach a day but ill start feeding the smaller ones first. I was trying to feed the few adult i did get in the shippment first but few became many.

I would say an adult dubia is too big for a female panther. I thought I would try and see if mine would take one. She did, but tore it in half with one claw and her mouth, chewed and swallowed the half in her mouth, then ate the other half after a couple of minutes. Guess she was too smart for me to mess her up by feeding too big.

Well my cham just eats like a pig!!!

she ate it pretty fast thats why i thought it would be ok
