Poop

I have recently bought a Jacksons chameleon and he is about 4 months old. I have had him since Thursday and have not seen him poop. When should he start pooping and what should it look like? I feed him crickets every day and 2 mealworms a week. Dust with calcium 3 times a week.

When should I be expecting poop? And does my calcium dusting look okay?

Yez we have a FAQ on poop with action shots.

The adult cham will only poop once or twice a week at best once it stops being a cricket vacuum. Hell adults might only eat once or twice a week.

As far as your dusting, id cut it back to just dusting only the mealworms to make it simple and easy on yourself. One dusting with calcium, and one dusting with calcium +d3. So monday mealworm could be calcium, and friday mealworm could be calcium+d3. Id also make those days all mealworms for feedings. its not good to feed a cham 90% the same food item. Normally its 2-3 staple feeders at the min. You might be able to get away without d3 with and adult with a good setup or lots of outdoor time, but babies its a race against time to get enough food and good lighting in them since they are doubling in weight each month.
