Poop Smell? Pot Smell?

Well anyways a quick question does chameleons poop smell if its on the plant soil and is wet? cause when you go up close to the bottom of his cage it has a weird smell.

It might be your soil. Do you have good draining through your pots?

The poop isn't going to smell worse when it's on the plant. If it doesn't smell other places, then it's not the poop, it's the plant. If it does smell other places, then your chameleon might have picked up a parasite. A fecal exam by the vet would determine that.

Yea but Im asking if a poop is soaking in the pot of the plant would it make it smell

i have no live plants in my cage and when the floor gets wet where the poop is i have to leave my room because it smells so bad but hes been tested for parasites and he has nothing wrong with him

Thats probably whats wrong with mine. cause his first cage didnt have ventilation on the bottom and the water stayed there and it smelled

My guy's cage has an odd smell too, I think it's the plant soil, cos it doesn't go when I clean out the poop. & it doesn't really smell if the poo get soggy... But to be fair, he also likes to hide his poo...so there maybe some that I haven't found yet. I need to take the ficus out for a clean.

I'm not sure how to resolve drainage issues with plants, I think some people put gravel at the bottom of the pot.

Well my soil.stays pretty moist because of misting.. I never water my plants but I put rocks in the bottom of my pots so the water will drain through. I've heard of mixing the soil with.peat moss or sand as well, maybe even put rocks in the.bottom too.
His cage should not stay constantly wet either. This will also cause it to smell and get moulding or bacteria problems. And yes wet poo can smell pretty bad I do a daily clean up and my cham doesn't poop in her plants, so its either that or root.rot of your plants.from standing.water.

Update: I was cleaning out some poops and looked under some pothos leaves where the soil and rocks are and i pulled out a poop and the bottom was COMPLETELY white and fuzz.
I searched white fuzzy mold and this is how the bottom of the poop looked like

The mold grew from the wet soil and poop. how is that a parasite?
