Pollen

So we know bee collected pollen is an excellent food / gutload item. Any reason why I couldnt collect pollen directly myself? Maybe not this time of year, but certainly in the spring and summer I've plenty of pollen heavy flowers I could harvest it from. Anyone do this?

I am thinking of stealing it from the flowers directly.

Plenty of people already take it from the bees, and then sell it not so cheaply.

Bee collected pollen is different to just plain flower pollen due to the added enzymes. Do you know if there is any difference in its nutritional value?

I'm betting there is quite a bit of difference from one batch of pollen to the next depending on the flowers you collect it from...just like each vegetable has a different nutritional content.
