Po and I are headed to vet.

So if it is a parasite how long could I wait until I take her to the vet.

There's another college campus that has a vet clinic that specializes in reptile care that I could go to on the first.
Could she wait that long? or no?

how is she acting? sleeping during the day? or not basking?

she's been acting quite normally.

There was one incident the other day when she climbed onto some cords that were in a dark corner and just shut her eyes. I realized what she was doing and put her back in her cage where she was wide awake the whole time.

I attributed her nap to the fact that she was in a dark corner.

Also she sits mainly under her heat emitter but when I look in she's usually doing something other then just spread out under her light or heat emitter

Why don't you contact them and ask about bringing her in now. They might be so grateful for the opportunity to have a chameleon patient that they will be happy to wait for payment.

Man I hate taking my animal to a vet that knows less than I do! So annoying. My local vet was supposed to be experienced with exotics but she doesnt know didly about chameleons, I wish vets that dont have expertise with the animal would tell you before you are in a position where you have to pay them.

But yeah def no dog food. In my experience when a chameleon has stool that looks slimy and is closing its eyes during the day, this can be a sign of dehydration. One thing I do for chams that I want to make sure are hydrated is buy some wax worms. Alot of members will say not to feed them to your animal because they are "junk food" and dont have alot of nutrients. While this is true in a sense and long term feeding of waxworms is not beneficial, for the sake of delivering hydration they are definitely a tool. You will also need to buy something called a "worm blower". This is used by fishermen to inflate earthworms with air so they are buoyant. Google worm blower for pictures of the item, it is around $2 and can be bought at a fishing shop. Fill the blower up with water and inject the wax worms with water and they will swell like water balloons then feed it to your animal. This is a great way to deliver H2O to a cham that is not drinking as much as it should. Hope this helps
