Plz help

My chameleon has a swollen joint and she is a lot meaner and she doesn't want to be touched much anymore. She will eat but it takes her a while and she gets distracted a lot easier and she gets upset if someone walks into the room. I don't know what to do please help.

Can you post a pic. A swollen joint could be anything from injury to gout. A pic would help us distinguish the two. My guess is injury if she is displaying and being aggressive all of a sudden. When chameleons get injured they become defensive because they are not operating at their optimal level. So some feel they must fight because a quick retreat is not an option.

But a pic is needed.

I have to be honest, I can't give you a great answer based on that pic. But what I can tell you, she has obviously experienced a fall/trauma at some point. I can see 5 areas where the ribs have callused over.

Do you have any suggestions she is eating her crickets and wax/meal worms just fine but I can't get her to eat any veggies

There is nothing you can do about the rib injuries. Back when I kept veileds, I never fed veggies/fruits until they were mature adults. Some may do differently now. So, I can't give too much of an opinion on that.

I would make sure she can't hurt herself anymore and respect her boundaries for now. If she is flighty and you make her react, she may hurt herself further. Just feed and water for now and she will more than likely be just fine. Just keep an eye on the swelling. If it gets worse, take her to a vet. It is normal for chameleons to sustain injuries sometimes and they normally resolve themselves. But swelling can cause issues with circulation and you want to keep an eye on that for sure.
