Play sand in winter in Canada?

Hey there, northernly neighbors!

Where would someone in Canada find washed, sterilized playsand this time of year? A Canadian visitor to my caresheet said the guys at her Home Depot told her they wouldn't have any until summer. I don't know her location, but can find out, if necessary.

Thanks!

This may or may not work .... but ... I noticed Home depot has those log shaped plastic bags full of sand that you use to add weight in the back of your truck. They were $2.97 ea , or something close to that.

Those would probably be filled with the industrial sand that isn't screened or sterilized. Good for weight, but not for a uro cage. I don't know how they do it up north, but down here, all of the play sand is natural sand that's been through a blast furnace at 1500°F to burn off the gunk and kill any bugs.

I've passed along the link to this thread, so hopefully she can find something better than the coconut shells the petstore is trying to sell to her. She's in Brossard, on the outskirts of Montreal, so there ought to be something around there.

Thanks for the help, guys!
