ok i need some help...how do i keep my humidity level up for my cham,,,in my 18x18x36....screen terrarium???and what would be the best humidity level?i dont have alot of plants in there ...so should i put more live plants in it.?and wen i mist it the humidity level gose upto around 80 or or a lil higher then it drops back to about 63...and my temp is at 76...wat should i do?oh yah if my cham dies is it ok to put the same live plants he had in annother chams cage???need some help...:(

If your humidity stays around 60 when there is not misting, that is ok, that is what mine hovers around at. Usually after I mist it spikes to 80-90 and the drops back down. Running a dripper all day long or as long as possible will help bring the humidity up also. Not a ton but it will help. Do you have a sick chameleon that you are thinking is going to die or something? I would take the plants outside, submerge them upside down in a thing of soapywater let them soak and rinse them really good. I don't know how big your plants are but if you have a 5gallons bucket that should work fine. ok, you are the person that had the cham die today I see. You don't know what your chameleon really died from. i know you have a new cage, and I guess washing the plants maybe ok but if there was some bacteria that killed your chameleon I am not sure if soap and water will do the trick. I would not want to take the chance. I think I would get new plants. That is just me. Maybe others will chime in here and let's see what they think.

thanks alot for the advice ...:)yah my chameleon rex died this morning...:(he had like dark black blotches on his stomach that were just spreading so im thinking it was an infection...his eye was messed up to i think he scratched it....and i think it escalated from there...oh yah imma probly just get new plants...i cant have my girl die on mee...bad enough i wass crying wen i saw rex all messed up...:,(so i gotta really keep up with her shes much bigger...

Yeah, I think that would be the best thing to do. Plants are cheap, but chameleons are not! I would start fresh. Sorry you lost Rex. Good luck with your new cham!! Don't hesitate to ask any questions if you are in doubt about anything, there is a world of knowledge on this forum!!

Im sorry to hear rex died if you for the mean time want to raid humidity until you get plants put seram wrap or plastic they sell at the grocery store for leftovers on the side of the enclousere not all around just 2 sides and that should higher up the huminity until you get the plants.
