Plants, and am I cleaning right?

I have an 8-9 month old Veiled Chameleon named George, and I cleaned his branches today and what I do is I fill up a washed out milk jug with VERY hot water into a bucket and I soak and scrub each branch individually. I'm also wondering, what kind of plants can I use in his terrarium (I use a ZooMed 18x18x36 ReptiBreeze) I've read up on a lot of them, and I just wanted to see what most people used and recommended, and where to get them.
