I am builing a new cage and want to put some live plants in it. The thing is.. It will have a slide out tray at the bottom & i dont want a bunch of potted plants sitting on it. Is it OK to plant several plants in the same pot? Im thinkin an umbrella and a large Pothos..... Anyone make a anti-gravity pot that will suspend itself about 2 "s up?

i hang my pothos from the top and let the vines flow down and a large unbrella on the bottom of the cage

yes thats a good idea..... I dont want a bunch of pots in my cage though. I wanna know if you can plant several different type plants in 1 pot:)

This can be fixed by having a solid background (plywood) and screwing a 'planter box' into the background, a few inches above the ground (to avoid the pullout bottom).

Just build the box (you can leave the back of the box open of course, and use the plywood background as the back), line with some pondliner or something similar, take some measurements, make your marks, drill some holes, and attach it with screws from behind.

That way you can have the regular plants you want, and also add hanging baskets from the top. I screw bamboo pieces to run the length, at the top of the cage of course, and hang the baskets from there.
