Should be enough with just a T5 then. Also keep the Umbrella trimmed down. It'll smash into the top of the cage like it's trying to escape after not too long.
A better protein skimmer and better foods.
My favorites are Mysis and live Blackworms. Blackworms probably being the best. But I wouldn't waste your money on plants. If your tank has the nutrients to support plants it's probably a dirty tank. The nutrient balance for a reef tank and a planted tank are incompatible. I always stick with a very shallow medium coarse sandbed. Easy to clean and easy to replace as you vacuum it. Reef octopus makes the best skimmers, there are a few other good ones but often the ones a petco or petsmart are junk.
Yeah same profile name a TRT. I stopped going about a year ago because I decided I was going to help the research community with a parasite I found on a lined dartfish. The tank was shut down for the effort eventually and as you can see it is currently the chameleon tank. All my stuff is still there at TRT.
Anyway hopefully all those plants work out. I'm still looking for more of a vine type plant that would grow in the tank. It would be neat to have living vines.
Pothos are kinda vine like. But I want something beefy that won't break with handling while cleaning.
