Placing reptibreeze in front of window

Hellos everybody,

I have a large 18x18x36 reptibreeze cage with a baby veiled chameleon that I keep in front of my bedroom window. It has a dual zoo new fixture with a exo terra UVB 100 and a Zilla heat bulb. The window faces directly west so it gets decent sun from mid afternoon through the evening. I have kept the window open 24/7 for pretty much the whole summer and my cham seems to like it. I do live in northeast Ohio though so during most of the year I'll have to keep it shut to maintain proper temps. I know that keeping the cage in front of a window is good for vitamin D exposure so I'm solely worried about temps as an issue. It can get very cold during the winter here so I'm worried about cold drafts coming through the window. Let me know if you all keep your cages near a window or door and how it works out. I can always move it away but I like having natural light come in to keep the cham on a natural light cycle. I provided a pic of the setup. Let me know what you guys think!

Thanks,
Sam

In the climate that you live in I do not recommend a cage being in front of the window especially in the winter.
I don't really like them in front of any window.

Also...as you've been told it will get no UVB through the glass window.

I live in Ohio and I couldn't sleep at night knowing the window was open . The air here can get cool and chilly at night. Do you leave those lights on at night? I have wheels on the box my son made me. I wheel him over to the french doors when the sun comes through for about an hour . I had Todd at Lightyourreptiles.com , set me up with what I needed. The linear lights is the way to go. I'm not a fan of the reptiles double dome . I think it limits your placement, but maybe with your cage it's perfect. I want with the bigger cage 24x24x42 , I believe that's what it is. I just wanted to save money in the long run. My Panthers is growing fast , his now 8 months old.

I don't leave any lights on at night and in fact I cover the viv with a loose blanket. Chams prefer the darkness from what I have read.

Relocated my cage today. I placed a shelf above it to hold the fogger and dripped above the cage. I feel proud of the setup so I attached a picture. :)
