hey for some reason i cant up load pictures. so sorry about that. but i bought 300 madagascar hissers about a year ago. they have produce well over a 1000 babies since i got them. i still have most of the breeder roaches but no so many feeders. feed a lot of them off. if your looking to save money in the long run roaches are the way to go. they dont smell like crickets and they dont make all the noise crickets do. roaches stomachs are larger too which is better for gut-loading, (more Nutritious) just another reason why they are better. anything else i can help you with please let me know. hope this helps

Here are a few pics of mine. I started with 30 of various sizes, and now have no idea how many i have!

On you tube, search for roach colonies and look for a video from "the roach keeper" he is the guy I got mine from.

I just got these guys yesterday actually. There are almost 140 adults, and LOTS of small-medium nymphs. I've got them in a big sterilite tub, and the screen in hot-glued on, I just covered it with black duct tape to be a little more visually appealing. I've got them in the back corner of my very messy office...

I double-bin my roaches, just to be on the safe side! The roaches live only in the inside container, the bigger box is just for peace of mind. The Turks dont seem to climb the sides at all. I use a little vaseline to stop the hisser nymps from leaving the inner container - the adults show no interest in climbing away (too fat maybe). Inside the living quarters I use egg crate, tree bark, toilet paper rolls, shredded paper and even rocks for furniture. I keep the food in a dish (lid off a mayo or jam jar). I dont keep large colonies, just 3 small colonies (2 Hisser, 1 Turk), with about a dozen adults in each, which is enough to offer roaches once to three times a week. I tend to use fewer roaches in summer when I have wild caught bugs to add to the mix, and use more roaches in winter.
