This thing looks huge and has to weigh a couple hundred pounds. I had to have my two son in laws help.
I think I have it fairly ready and hoping the plants grow fast so he has hiding places. Most of the plants are from my collection here so fingers crossed.
I put a 3” leca clay balls on the bottom and then covered it with a weed screen. Then added organic soil, coco coir, mulch, little sand and some charcoal. I put some leaf litter on top but I will need a bunch more. Then I added some of my springtails. The j and A mister seems to be working well and I have it set for 7 am and 7 pm for one minute. I have the fogger set up and my plant light. I’ll grab the Arcadia pro T5 6% tomorrow. I put just a 25w basking CHE as it’s fairly warm here right now. All the branches are mostly horizontal and the highest ones are 10” from the screen top.
I was so excited to work on it I woke up at 3 am and haven’t taken a break 🙈😂

That looks great!!! I love your enthusiasm and energy about it also! 😄 isn’t it crazy how we go from oh that’s a cute chameleon, I’ll take one, to rearranging our entire home, emptying our wallets, all of sudden can tolerate worms and roaches, worry about temperature and humidity in our home, and all humans can suffer as long as the chameleon is good in about 2 weeks. 😂

😂😂 so true!!

Thanks! I did a base of clay balls first (2-3”) then mixed organic black soil 40% with coco coir 40% and 20% mulch along with a bit of sand. I also laid down a layer of charcoal and topped up with leave litter.

Sorry I meant what did you actually make the bin out of, or did you buy it? Like acrylic/glass/etc. it looks great!

Looking really good. Ok bottom 1 inch tall strip is that a screen strip between the doors and the bottom glass panel? Place the PC fan on top back corner of cage opposite side from the heat fixture. Should be placed so that it is pulling air up and out of the cage through the top panel.

With a 6% you want a 8-9 inch distance from where the fixture sits at the screen and the top of the branch for the branches that are running parallel to the fixture.

Additionally I would not use the CHE... They move to the light for warmth and the CHE would never need to be used unless your night temps drop too far. Which most people do not ever let their house get below 50F in the winter.

Use all your available space. Put lots of branches in. This gives them the ability to use the entire enclosure.

Here is a good reference for cham safe plants. You have the room for more and the cham will just love having tons of plants.

Oh that's the bottom of the tank. It's glass and comes with it.
